Damaged Entryway

Location: Pittsfield, NH

Problem: Wife of serving deployed member called citing a safety issue- needs assistance to repair hole in entry way near front door and has young children. Hole is presently covered with a loose piece of plywood. When we went to inspect the issue, we found broken tiles and deteriorated floor sheathing which was caused by the water intrusion from the front entry door and trim.

Solution: Hammers for Veterans worked with 1 New Hampshire Home Builders association member Brix & Stix construction to remove the broken floor tiles and deteriorated floor sheathing. Patch the hole with new plywood and install new 12×12 floor tiles because we could not match existing. We also replace the front entry door with a new Thermatru 9 lite entry door with new locks. The Veteran and his wife are very pleased with making it safer for them to come in and out of their front door. All the expenses paid for by Hammers for Veterans.
